Ok so something a little different.

Ive just started playing this mod called dayZ (requires arma 2, and the arma 2 arrowhead on pc)

A mate introduced me, by sending me this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOB7YGgREFg - mind you i have since cursed him, cause it was incredibly intriguing.

All those movies we watch about surviving zombies, well here is a mod that gives you the chance to. See you die in game, you die. Lose everything you manage to acquire, which considering you start with didly shit, is precious, apparently. All i have is a bag, a torch, a bandaid and painkillers.

So first go round, just trying to learn keys and what nots so not really caring..... but have my mate on msn.... first go of the game. Craig.... shit man, there is a building, a human is running.... and he being chased..... I HAVE NO WEAPON! His response.... lmao, you need to find an axe.... mine, fuck you!

Right so im sitting back just watching, and next thing a human, (its like a big mmo) is in front of me, im like wtf. Still learning buttons, and he just calmly sits down.... ohhhhk. so i random button mash and end up in prone (must of looked like a right git). He fucks off, I end up in a building with another, then zombies are outside, im like leg it. manage to get away. That was go 1!

Next time.... just wandering round, same thing working it out.... I hit the wrong fucking key dont I.... end in sprint, well its on for young and old in the london zombielympics, I take a hit, blood spurting out, i just fucking LEG IT! Problem 1. 4 zombies up my ass. Problem 2. No idea what key to get my pissy bandaid. End up a lighthouse tower, zombie with me, decide fuck this, as the blood level meter is fast dropping, do the ol' sugarbuzz trick and jump. DEAD!

So next go, just moving slowly, quietly up a hill. See where you end your session is where you start, all of your characters settings saved, so if you have a gaping hole in your ass, well new server means, quick bandaid. Also, daytime you spawn is determined by the server you are in.... so night there... night ingame.

Which brings me to now. (I have just gone back to game, which you cannot pause and see im dead, ho hum, good cause i had nothing and was shitting myself anyway) I decide to play, great, server... fucking night! Quickly ask mate, how the fuck i use my flashlight... he tells me... right ok. Off i go. Turn up screen brightness, meh does fuck all. See a house, slowly.... quickly respond to an msn... go back FUCK zombie.... X3 fortunately not the able bodied kind, can only crawl, so i turn and fucking leg it.....

Keep moving, and everytime i seem to hide, and go respond to some chat, go back zombie highway has formed. It seems however that you make no noise, dont threaten them, they just "arghhhhh" and walk on. But alas, deciding to do this, has ending in my death. Again ho hum, cause i had sfa to use anyway.

From what i see on youtube vids, well there are some hardcore twats out there, that trust me search it, are worth a laugh. What im wary of in this game as ive been told, its not just zombies to watch out for as you try to survive, but other players who will murder you for what ever you hold.

Interesting I must say, and for me, not a stealth gamer, as you know, i hide for 3 seconds before i go fuck this and bolt, dying instantly and laughing. This is a game im playing a little bit differently, and i must say, for only the probably 2 hrs I have played it, enjoying it thoroughly.

Decide to go in again, restart.... booyeah, spawn right next to some buildings, got me an axe, hunting knife gazillion zombies, but meh.

THEN - host quits on the server..... all gone, mother fucker.

Spawn in same spot thinking... cool might get me another axe, nope all i get is the hunting knife, which you cannot use to kill zombies. Did pick up a smoke grenade and a few other things, but im still working out buttons/inventory so managed to smoke grenade myself, and throw shit away, decided leg it was best option.

Decided to disconnect (come here lol) now going to log in on another server, out of curiosity what i spawn with, aka do i keep my gay knife. And where... hmmm.

nope lost me gay knife, in a dif spot... prompting msg to craig... wtf.... now in new location...

however... still intrigued... DAMMIT!

must stop going to chat.... im up to my 4th death doing it lmao!

I have never played a game like this..... as in, you all know how i play.... i have never played this kind of me before.

Liking the crap outta it. Just trying to stay coastal bound atm, gathering a loot pile.... more than a fucking axe, and a few more bandages ( i am still me lol)

Right, so glutton for punishment has decided to play again.

Decide this time, to change the fucking server - to regular, not veteran.

Can run from zombies much easier .... however not when bleeding and no bandage.

Alas dead again... back i go.

Right so new theory has emerged.

The other day craig said, if they chasing you, run through the trees, they lose track of you.

Theory is sound, so far. Chased, legged it up and around a hill, now ive been running parallel to the road/coast/railline, following a map, trying to work out where i am. And have covered alot of ground, running up the hill, through the trees.

Now lets see if i can quietly drop down into this town, and find me some cool shit.

Apparently he informs me (or should himself!!!!!) That this is a mod in an alpha stage, lots of bugs etc. Bullshit, try lots of zombies. Was trying to work out how long loot points take to respawn, once i finally found out where the fuck i was on the map. No ingame map found yet - yet have to loot. So trying to work it out with this http://dayzdb.com/map#4.115.079 fortunately as a noob you spawn on the coast. Then detective work.

Im seriously fucking liking it aye....

I'm glad this mod is causing you the same pain it has me Jen! I've sunk about 100 hours into it so far and now finally I have some awesome loot and some good survival tactics (as well as an AS50 and NVG's)
